Heather Sime - Her First Week
|
Monday June 10th
|
Heather Rhiannon Sime was born at 10:06 weighing
6 pounds and 15.5 ounces. She was quite full of mucus
at first, and was a little 'grunty'. She was also
not very interested in feeding, so the doctor had
a quick look at her. She seemed happy that there was
nothing much wrong, if anything, and decided to leave
her for now, but to keep her in an incubator by the
side of Joanne's bed, just to be on the safe side.
By the evening, Heather had improved enormously. So
much so, that she took a great feed, and was moved
from the incubator into a normal cot. Matthew came
into the hospital in the evening to meet his baby
sister for the first time. His favourite part was
when we let him hold her for a short while. I know
he is going to make a great big brother.
Today, Heather made us thank our lucky stars, as
we realise only too well how blessed we have been
to have two such wonderful children as Matthew and
Heather. They are our world, and our life. God bless
them both.
